I worked with Southern Regional Extension Forestry to overhaul their ‘Forest Products Locator’ website and bring it up to modern standards for responsive design, usability, and accessibility. The website is used by lumber and forestry professionals to locate and list specific lumber mills and wood products in the Southern US and is a collaborative effort between Southern Regional Extension Forestry, the nonprofit Southern Group of State Foresters, and the US Forest Service. I led the front-end redesign, creating mockups and interactive prototypes for both desktop and mobile versions of the website. Additionally, I worked closely with the organization’s IT/developer team to ensure ongoing implementation. I also implemented a new, more comprehensive search filtering solution for the ‘Mill List’ page. The original version of the website has no filtering options on this page, and this was an identified usability pain point for our target demographic of users. The organization wanted to add new pages to help users find additional professional resources by state, so I designed mockups for what these pages could look like.
